Essentially I want to have a script execute when the contents of a DIV change. Since the scripts are separate (content script in the Chrome extension & webpage script), I need a way simply observe changes in DOM state. I could set up polling but that seems sloppy.

I have used Redux-Saga. Code written with it is easy to reason so far, except JS generator function is messing up my head from time to time. From my understanding, Redux-Observable can achieve the similar job that handles side effects but without using generator function.

However, docs from Redux-Observable does not provide many opinions of why it is superior against Redux-Saga. I would want to know whether not using generator function is the only benefit of using Redux-Observable. And what could be the downsides, gotcha or compromises from using Redux-Observable instead of Redux-Saga?

Wikipedia says that there are various ways to write reactive code such as imperative, OORP and functional. I want to know if event-driven is just an another way to write reactive code?

I have external programs such as ffmpeg and gstreamer running in the background and writing to a log file. I want to display the contents of this log with my Flask application, so that the user can watch the log update, like tail -f job.log would do in the terminal.

I tried to use <object data="/out.log" type="text/plain"> to point at the log file, but that failed to show the data, or the browser told me I needed a plugin.

I am trying to integrate sentry in my react js application. Facing some issues uploading source maps - It gives me a 413 error - which implies the file size is too large. I got to know that the max size allowed is 20 MB but my source maps (all files combined) are less than 20 MB

413 status code is “Request Entity Too Large” – I’m guessing this means your source map file is too large. There is an upper limit of 20 MB at the moment.

You could try omitting sourcesContent (see your build config) to make your source map smaller in order to fit under the limit … but this will remove some context from stack traces.

Apparently we had two nginx instances: one was external and the other one was inside the Docker image.
Setting client_max_body_size to 100m on external nginx resolved this issue.

Sentry source map upload issue | ReactJS

There are 2 columns in a row for my table. One is the key and other is the value. The value can be single or multiple. If multiple, they are separated by <br>. Like:

I use Sentry to track the error in my website. The problem is sometimes chrome mobile for android has a null localStorage that cause all related method such as getItem or setItem will produce an error (Yeah, it's flaky). Have you ever got the problem like this before? I'd like to know the best solution for this problem. 

Maybe it is because this question is almost 2 years old and they've changed things but localStorage definitely works in Android Chrome with localStorage.setItem() and getItem() calls. There is no need for the polyfill.

However, there is a problem/challenge that occurs if you've already put a page out there and you add localStorage that is related to Chrome Caching behavior. That's the problem I was having.

I had a page on the web than did some things via JavaScript. Then I added the simple localStorage calls to write and read a string value. I found that localStorage would fail.

Finally, I loaded the .js file directly in my Android chrome browser and saw that the JS was the cached version of the file.

I reloaded the JS file and saw it update in Android Chrome so I went back to the page that uses the JS file and it still didn't save to localStorage.

To get it to work I had to close Android Chrome entirely (after refreshing the JS file) and finally, localStorage did indeed work.
