As a React structure, Next Js provides a platform for creating programming applications using the React library.

The framework has numerous features that make React applications more user-friendly.

The availability of tools intended to assist us with our activities makes it unnecessary for developers to start without any preparation. A system is a programming system created and used by designers to construct applications, so Next Js falls under this category.

Next Js offers many benefits for the React developers:

With Next Js we don't need to care about writing a code for routers for the pages, we just create a page in a special folder and Next Js provides it with routing, simple as that :)

Both static generation (SSG) and server-side rendering (SSR) are supported for pre-rendering. SSR is a server-side approach, while client-side rendering (CSR) is used for one-page React applications. Despite having SEO-friendly content, CSR is not really SEO-friendly because search engines won't see the actual content. Using SSR in Next Js will make our site more SEO friendly and avoid issues like flickering when fetching data.

React developers can easily add back-end code to their projects with Next Js. We can easily add code for storing, getting, and authenticating data here.

This question appeared in my head many times before I wasn't familiar with Next Js. The React library itself was sufficient to build an application, according to me. As I developed my web developer skills and started building highly-scaled large applications, I had to import additional libraries with React (for example, routing).

This framework simplifies the development of large React applications since it provides many additional features, which we will discuss further below. React developers are still required to write React code and use React features, but also are provided with built-in features to help solve common problems.

At last, we have pros for developers, arising from many features that Next Js offers. Devs are incredibly excited about reusable components which cut development time and cost.

CSS support built-in – developers can import CSS files from a JavaScript file.

Built-in Image Component and Automatic Image Optimization – this feature automatically optimize images using the new next/image component.

Community support – the popularity of Next Js is growing, and so is the number of its contributors. This is much help because instead of solving something from scratch, developers can look for a solution that is probably already available.

Fast Refresh – fast, live-editing experience. 

Hybrid of SSR and SSG – prerender pages at build time or request time in a single project.

Incremental Static Generation –In the background, the pages are re-rendered as traffic arrives, allowing developers to update existing pages. This way, static content can become dynamic.

TypeScript support – automatic TypeScript configuration and compilation.

Zero Config –Rather than focusing on the application logic of your Next Js app, you should focus on the business logic. And to help you, it provides automatic compilation and bundling. In other words, Next is optimize for production right from the start.

Although Next Js is developing rapidly and many features arrive, it still has some cons and issues which you can see below:

Cost of flexibility – The front-end layer of Next JS does not come with many built-in pages, so you have to create it manually.

Development and Management –When you use Next Js to build an online store, but don't have a dedicated team of developers, you'll need someone to handle the development and maintenance afterwards.

It’s opinionated – Next Js is limited to use only its file-based router, you can’t modify the way it deals with routes. Therefore, if you want to use dynamic routes, you need Node.js server.

Lack of built-in state manager – therefore, if you need a state manager, you also need Redux, Mob X or something like that.

Low on plug-ins –As opposed to Gatsby.js, you cannot use numerous easy-to-adapt plugins.
