I have a table in SQL Server that have a NOT NULL Column that uses a SEQUENCE as default (NEXT VALUE FOR SeqDefa), that column is not the PK from the table.

If the first letter is a W then the second must be S

If the first letter is a B then the second must me a number

However, I do not have permission to use the bulk load statement..

I have been using SqlLobEditor for a while now, but sadly my trial has run out and I cannot upload my blobs anymore. The system in itself is quite legacy, and I cannot get the permissions I need to be able to do this with T-SQL.

Are there any free alternatives to SqlLobEditor I can use that does the same? For some reason that worked, but using T-SQL doesn't, so I don't quite understand what SqlLobEditor does that's different.

I've also thought about writing some web client way of doing it, but as of now I'm not allowed to do that either...

I couldn't find an event to capture adaptative query plan execution, is there any event for that?

I tried to create a session to capture query_post_execution_showplan and filter showplan_xml to capture only adaptative queries, but there isn't a pred_compare for xml fields, so it's impossible to filter the showplan_xml field, I would need to capture the showplan_xml for all the queries being executed and filter later, that's not a good solution.

So, the main question: How can I track adaptative joins in a way that allows me to identify how many executions are using nested join and how many are using hash joins?

The client that it was built for is now complaining about the cost, so we are wanting to go with SQL Web edition to reduce costs, basically back up the DB's, uninstall and install the web version. Most people have recommended spinning up a new VM, but the one we have is already setup with a number of systems so moving to a new machine isn't easy or cheap once we start engaging other vendors to do the move. I have looked at an article and it looks like I can install web edition then change the configuration in Azure to reflect this and then it will change the billing. I'm sure I can create a new VM and test the different ways to attack this, but thought I'd put the question out there in the hope that someone can go 'Do it like this!'
